Using a registry like Isometric means you can trust that when you’re buying one tonne of carbon removal, that carbon has been captured and is securely stored.

Isometric verifies and lists carbon credits, ensuring that each one represents one additional tonne of carbon removed from the atmospheric cycle. Our registry acts as the ledger that records all of the data supporting how that credit was created, then tracks the credit through its lifetime. Isometric credits are counted once and only once.

The result is that you can transact with confidence, knowing that a credit issued by Isometric will contribute directly toward your climate goals.

In the old way of working, suppliers paid to have their work certified and for credits to be issued. Isometric’s model removes this conflict of interest, so you know we’re always on your side.

We never take money from suppliers. We charge you a flat fee based on the complexity of the verification work we carry out. We do not get paid per-credit issued.

This ensures we never reduce the standards you pay us to enforce and means you only receive carbon removal credits of the highest possible quality.

Isometric is not a marketplace - we do not buy or sell credits. Owning carbon credits would create conflicts of interest that would take Isometric away from our mission to build trust in the carbon market.

Isometric works closely with many of the leading marketplaces such as Patch, Supercritical, and other large buyers to help them secure the highest quality carbon credits for their clients.

Isometric received conditional ICROA endorsement in March, becoming the first registry to receive endorsement under the new, stricter set of criteria. Isometric has applications in process with other standards. Isometric has aligned our policies and standard around the requirements of these groups, but per the rules of those groups, we are unable to disclose how our applications are progressing.

Isometric has a robust team of PhD scientists who are experts in several specific aspects of carbon removal. They are the authors of our protocols, which are the most rigorous on the market. These are reviewed by external experts from our 200+ member Science Network as well as the general public to ensure independence and quality.

When verifying a removal, Isometric works with independent verification bodies who specialize in checking that removals have followed the requirements of the protocol. This involves an onsite inspection as well as a deep analysis of the data supporting each carbon removal.
