Why project developers and buyers choose Isometric

01

Certified fast

Certify, Isometric's AI-powered certification platform, uses agents to review the evidence and check every data point, so certificates are issued in days, not months.

02

Accurately quantified

Every certificate is backed by protocols developed by the largest Science Team of any certifier and an independent network of more than 500 academics.

03

Fully traceable

Isometric publishes the data and calculations behind every certificate on the public Registry. Anyone can check the evidence themselves.

Isometric is accredited by ICVCM, CORSIA, and ICROA, and has nine protocols approved to use the Core Carbon Principles label.

Superpollutant protocols

Isometric certifies emissions reductions across refrigerant destruction, landfill methane, orphaned well plugging, and rice farming.

How certification works

Every project follows the same path set out in the Isometric Standard, from eligibility to certificates on the public Registry.

  1. 01

    Eligibility check

Isometric confirms the project meets the Standard and protocol requirements.

    Before you start
  2. 02

    Public comment

The project's design is published so scientists, industry experts, and the public can comment on it.

    10 days by default
  3. 03

    Validation

An independent verifier, chosen by Isometric, reviews the design and visits the site.

    Once per project
  4. 04

    Verification

Certify and an independent verifier review the evidence behind every certificate.

    In days
  5. 05

    Issuance

Certificates are issued on the public Registry, with the data behind them.

    On the Registry

Behind every certificate

Certify, Isometric's AI-powered platform, works alongside independent verifiers to review every data point behind a claim, not just a sample, doing in hours what used to take months.

FAQs

What are superpollutants?
Superpollutants are greenhouse gases, such as methane and hydrofluorocarbons, that trap far more heat than carbon dioxide over a shorter period. Stopping them from reaching the atmosphere is one of the fastest ways to slow near-term global warming.
What types of superpollutant projects does Isometric certify?

Isometric certifies superpollutant emissions reductions under four public protocols: HFC and ODS Recovery and Destruction, Landfill Methane Flaring and Utilization, Orphaned Well Plugging, and Rice Methane Reduction. See them all on the Isometric Registry.

What does a superpollutant certificate represent?

Each Isometric superpollutant certificate (often called a carbon credit) represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent prevented from reaching the atmosphere, calculated using each gas's 100-year global warming potential (GWP100).

How does Isometric use AI in certification?
Certify, Isometric's AI-powered platform, works alongside independent verifiers to review every data point behind a claim, not just a sample, doing in hours what used to take months. Its agents surface anything that needs attention, and the verifier makes every decision before a certificate is issued. Certify also includes Remi, an AI assistant that helps project developers prepare their submissions.
Who pays Isometric for certification?
Buyers do. Under Isometric's buyer-pays model, certification fees are paid by the buyers of certificates rather than the project developers who generate them, which aligns Isometric with the people who need certificates to be accurate. See how Isometric's fees work.
Is Isometric accredited?

Yes. Isometric is accredited by ICVCM, CORSIA, and ICROA.

How do I get a project certified by Isometric?
Get in touch with the Isometric team, who will confirm which protocol applies and check your project's eligibility, then guide you through validation and your first verification in Certify. Get in touch.
Who backs Isometric?
Isometric has raised $75 million from investors including Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which owns the New York Stock Exchange, as well as AVP, Lowercarbon Capital, Plural, and John Doerr.
